Top Notch EDM Services can produce both small and large welded samples, manufacturing a block to meet our clients’ exact needs.
Our team can produce dynamic calibration blocks as well as dissimilar-metal welds. This provides an important advantage in the inspection of nickel-alloy welds, where deposited weld metal has a different ultrasonic property than a base metal of the same alloy.
We can install flaws in pipes or plates and in any type of weld. We can also produce cladded samples. Cladding can be installed by the SAW, FCAW, SMAW, or GTAW processes.
At Top Notch, we always weld to our client’s welding procedure specification (WPS). This ensures that the sample block we manufacture will be the same as the production part to be inspected. Our in-house staff of NDE Level III experts can consult with our clients to achieve the desired custom specimens that meet code and flaw sizing accuracy. We can create any ASME code qualification blocks for clients’ needs. We offer in-house PAUT, TOFD, and RT for flaw prove-up on our samples to ensure our samples are meeting our clients’ specifications and requirements.
Top Notch EDM Services offers welded samples using multiple welding processes and welding combinations. We can also install reference reflectors in the weld metal for any of the weld processes listed below:
- Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW)
- Flux-cored arc welding (FCAW)
- Automated GTAW
- Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW)
- Submerged arc welding (SAW)
- Gas metal arc welding (GMAW)
